Stomple is a new game from Spin Master, the company behind Hedbanz and Quelf. Stomple is a strategic marble stomping game. The goal is to outwit your competition and be the last stomper on the board.
Gameplay is exceedingly simple. You stomp marbles. At the begining of the game, you’re randomly assigned a stomper with a color on top of it (this has no impact on the colors of marbles you are allowed to stomp, but has an effect later). If you have marbles of the same color adjacent to the one you just stomped, that is there’s a line of the same color, you can continue stomping until the line runs out. If there’s just a single marble of the color you stomp, you stop. Each player stomps in turn order, and if a player chooses or is unable to make any other move, he can teleport to another area by stomping on a marble that shares a color with your stomper and ending your turn there. When a player has no moves at the beginning of his turn, his stomper is removed from the game, and he’s eliminated.
This game is extremely fun and fast. I taught 6 Magic players to play this game in under one minute, and if you know anything about Magic players, that’s an accomplishment! (Just kidding, Magic guys.) There’s a lot of strategy mixed in with a lot of randomness, so everyone has a chance, but the smart player has an advantage. If you’re looking for something easy, quick, and fun, check out Stomple.
